Democrat James Talarico and Republican Ken Paxton are in a dead heat for the Senate in Texas, according to new polling of one of the cycle’s most closely watched contests, The Hill reported.
Talarico notched 48 percent to Paxton’s 46 percent in new numbers from Emerson College Polling and The Hill, The Hill reported. The Hill also reported that Greg Abbott leads the race for Texas governor.
Members of the Bush family have endorsed Democrat James Talarico in the Texas Senate race, the BBC reported, which said the Bushes could potentially influence some disaffected Republicans when it comes to next month’s vote.
