More Than 1,300 Arrested as Protests Across France Turn to Clashes
Hundreds of thousands marched across France on October 24 against the cost of living and shortfalls in schools and public services. Police fired tear gas and water cannon after nightfall, and the interior ministry reported more than 1,300 arrests.
